The Conjuring Movies by Release Date
The Conjuring (2013)
It all starts, in 1971, with real-life paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren, portrayed by Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga. It focuses on the Warrens’ investigation of the Perron family’s haunted farmhouse in Rhode Island.
Annabelle (2014)
This prequel, takes place in 1967 in Southern California, 12 years after the official origin of the doll. A young couple is terrorized by the evil spirit of the doll Annabelle after a satanic cult breaks into their home.
The Conjuring 2 (2016)
The Warrens travel to London in 1977 to assist the Hodgson family, who are experiencing poltergeist activity in their home. As they delve deeper, the Nun is introduced.
Annabelle: Creation (2017)
This takes place in 1955, in California, which depicts the origins of Annabelle. It is years after the tragic death of their daughter, a dollmaker and his wife open their home to a group of orphaned girls, unwittingly unleashing the spirit of Annabelle.
The Nun (2018)
The Nun takes place in 1952 in Romania, a priest and a novice are sent to investigate the mysterious suicide of a nun at a Romanian abbey. This is the Nun from The Conjuring 2.
The Curse of La Llorona (2019)
Set in 1973 Los Angeles, The Curse of La Llorona is the most detached and removed tale from the franchise’s ongoing story. A social worker must save her children from the vengeful spirit of La Llorona, who preys on the innocent.
Annabelle Comes Home (2019)
Taking place in 1972, Annabelle targets Warren’s daughter, Judy, and her babysitters after the Warrens bring Annabelle to their artifact room.
The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It (2021)
It is set in 1981 after the Warrens investigate a murder case where the defendant claims demonic possession as a defense after killing his landlord.
The Nun 2 (2023)
Taking place in 1956, it follows Sister Irene as she once again comes face-to-face with Valak, the demon nun.
The Conjuring: Last Rites (2025)
Coming September 5, 2025, where the Warrens take on one last terrifying case involving mysterious entities they must confront.
