She became famous and known as the “renegade girl” because she was the one who made the dance popular in the first place. People, articles, news stations, and more were talking about her and this specific dance and how it changed her life. For the next couple of weeks, the Renegade was taking over the world.
I remember being in school and how everyone was getting on TikTok and talking about Chali D’Amelio and the renegade and having classmates doing the renegade because it was the new trend. Lots of people were hoping on the renegade trend because they saw how Chali D’Amelio got famous overnight with this one dance so they wanted to do the same hoping they could get the same results. For some, it worked, but they didn’t get the same results as Carli did, they still were able to get an audience by doing this dance and eventually going on to be famous. I remember one of my cousins doing this dance with their friend and, to be honest, I found it dumb I just didn’t understand why people were doing this dance. I’m not a big of TikTok never used it and don’t really plan on doing so, but it’s nice to know that these people have fun doing these dances and no one should make them feel bad for doing them. Eventually, the dance kept on growing and growing. Now you may think that Chali D’Amelio was the creator of the Renegade dance because people always associate her with that dance move, well she isn’t the creator of the dance.
The creator of the Renegade is Jalaiah Harmon who’s an American dancer and content creator. Now the reason why everyone thought that Chali D’Amelio was the creator of Renegade was because her video was the most viral TikTok doing the Renegade. It was the most viewed TikTok about the Renegade dance so people started assuming she was the creator. That is until Jalaiah Harmon went on social media asking Chali D’Amelio to give her some credit as she was the one who created the dance in the first place. So people were asking Chali D’Amelio to make it right and give Jalaiah Harmon the credit she deserved since the dance was one of the reasons she became famous. In February 2020, Jalaiah Harmon and Chali D’Amelio made a TikTok together doing the Renegade giving Jalaih the credit deserves and letting the whole know that she was the creator of this popular dance. Thus everyone was happy in the end. It’s crazy to think how a few years ago this one dance was all over the world, and now there are viral dances every week, but it was nice being around that time were the Renegade took over the world, and who knows one of you guys can make the next viral dance move.
