This year I went to watch The Strangers Chapter 1 with a friend. The Strangers is about a couple that were on their way to vacation to celebrate their anniversary. Sadly their car broke down and they had to stay in this small town that they never heard of before and had to rent a place to stay which was a cabinet in the woods. Once they get there they settle down to relax and wait for the car to be repaired, but it doesn’t go that smoothly because strangers start coming to their cabinet and knocking on the door and just spying on them. The couple does their best to handle these strangers by warning them that they will call the cops if they don’t leave. The situation escalates and the couple are chased down by these 3 strangers who are for some reason trying to kill them. Eventually, the couple is caught and killed by the strangers, the husband dies, but a miracle happens and the wife lives, but she’s now being watched by these strangers and the movie ends. My thoughts of this was that I was surprised that the movie ended on a cliffhanger since this is part of a trilogy but I didn’t know that going into this film. Though the name was a dead giveaway that the film was going to end in a cliffhanger. I had a fun time watching the movie. Was I scared? Absolutely I wouldn’t say I’m a big horror fan, but I love to push myself to watch these horror films knowing very well I’m going to be scared and that most likely be covering my eyes. However the movie wasn’t received well by the general audience. I had a good time and I didn’t let the reviews get to me. My friend and I wanted to watch a horror movie at the time and so we did and we had a good time. So if you’re looking for a horror film to watch in this spooky month then I’d say give this movie a chance.
